Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was recently expelled from the House Freedom Caucus after a series of disagreements with the conservative group, according to two Republican lawmakers familiar with the situation.
“She no longer works with HFC,” a Republican lawmaker told The Daily Beast, suggesting it was wrong to “bashing” her colleagues.
“I think there was an understatement,” the Republican added.
The euphemism refers to Greene’s recent fight with a senior member of the Freedom Caucus, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), which culminated last month when Greene called Boebert a “little bitch” on the front of the house floor. The Daily Beast.
That was apparently the last straw for the members of the Freedom Caucus — a group of which Boebert remains a staunch member.
But Green’s biggest personal opponent at HFC, Boebert, couldn’t be more eager to fire her.
During internal deliberations nearly two weeks ago — which came after Green confirmed to several publications that she had indeed called Boeppert a “little bitch” — Poppert agreed with another member who disagreed. He opposed Greene’s impeachment, out of respect for his right to “free speech”. »»«
“She was against impeachment,” a GOP lawmaker familiar with the HFC meeting told The Daily Beast. She was actually against it.
Boebert confirmed to The Daily Beast that she defended Greene on freedom of speech reasons, but did not comment on how she ultimately voted.

“The comments that Marjorie and I shared had no bearing on my vote,” Popper said Thursday afternoon.
Green, who has distanced himself from the far right of the Republican Party since joining Congress in 2021, is no longer familiar with the group’s internal meetings or its strategy for the future.
In recent months, I’ve become a key ally of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), helping not only secure his spokesperson, but also advance the debt-ceiling deal hated by HFC preservatives.
A Green Party spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
