Helen Mirren was the coolest thing on the red carpet at the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The 2006 The Queen star turned heads with a stunning hair transformation on Tuesday, arriving at the event wearing a soft blue trench coat that perfectly matched her Del Core dress.
Mirren’s off-the-shoulder dress has a deep V-neck, long sleeves, a fitted bodice, and a long train. Diamonds, soft makeup, and pale blue nails tied the look together.
As the cameras flashed, she showed off one of her latest accessories: a handheld fan with the text “#WorthIt,” a nod to her partnership with L’Oréal Paris. Altogether, the ensemble created a sexy and chic look that was perfect for a film festival.
Mirren hasn’t been shy about flaunting her hair in the past. In March, she wore Long Gray Locks to the premiere of “Shazam! Wrath of the Gods. »
A few days before the California event, the 77-year-old star dismissed a notion that’s all too common in society: “You’re not supposed to have longer hair after a certain age.”
“During COVID, I started growing my hair out, and I haven’t had long hair since I was in my 20s,” she said during an appearance on Lorraine’s UK morning show.
“It just got bigger and bigger and bigger, and I can’t be bothered to cut it off. Then I thought: You know what? So cool. I think I’ll stick to it for a while,” Mirren added. It’s so radical.”
