Focus Entertainment has acquired Railsimulator.com, the parent company of Dovetail Games that makes titles like Train Sim World 3. No fees were mentioned, and the news comes courtesy of the French companies’ financial report. The organization used to launch the Farming Simulator series, before GIANTS grew to the point where it could sustain itself.
Focus Entertainment today announced the acquisition of 100% of Railsimulator.com, the parent company of Dovetail Games Group, a leading gaming company in… [the] simulation genre, as well as senior management,” the document explains. “For years, the UK-based studio has built a solid business model based on synergies between full game releases and an aggressive live content strategy that generates recurring revenue. »
The statement continued: “The consolidation of this award-winning developer and publisher (£15m in projected revenue for the financial year ending 31st March 2023) is a step forward in Focus Entertainment’s strategy and is expected to be gradual in margin terms.”
Train Sim World 3 has continued to grow at a healthy pace, adding an all-new East Midlands-themed expansion pack earlier this week. Focus Entertainment is unlikely to change its already successful team-based business model, but time will tell.
