Festival organizers announced Monday that “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate,” the fifth film in Harrison Ford’s adventure series, will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18. The city of Cannes will also salute Ford for his career.
The premiere of James Mangold’s “Dial of Destiny” comes 15 years after the premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” at the French festival. Described as the final chapter in the series, “Dial of Destiny” hits US cinemas on June 28.
“Dial of Destiny,” which was rumored to be headed to Cannes, adds its second MW premiere to this year’s festival, which kicks off May 16.
Cannes on Friday announced the long-awaited premiere of Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” the Apple TV+ adaptation of David Grann’s bestselling book about the Osage Nation’s killing spree in 1920s Oklahoma. Among its cast are Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. The film’s premiere, scheduled for May 20, will mark Scorsese’s first film at Cannes since 1986’s “After Hours.”
The full Cannes lineup will be announced on April 13th.
