Kiran Nadar is Chairman of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), a philanthropic arts initiative, and a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. A passionate art collector and philanthropist, she has profoundly shaped and inspired the Indian art world. It also plays a vital role in promoting Indo-French cultural relations and artistic cooperation. Established collaborations with major French museums such as the Musée Guimet in Paris and the Museum of Asian Arts in Nice. In 2022, KNMA has partnered with the Alkazi Foundation and the French Institute of India to create ‘Converges’, the largest exhibition of original photographs by French photographers ever presented in India.
“I have the honor to award the Legion of Honor on behalf of the President of the French Republic, Kiran Nadar. Through this award, France recognizes its central role in the Indian cultural landscape and its exceptional contribution to the dialogue between the French and Indian cultures. We strongly believe in bringing French and Indian artists together, and we are honored to be able to draw on Nadar’s vision to achieve this goal,” said the French ambassador.
