Brest and Brittany will host the Olympic flame, an announcement was made by the Finistère County Council. The date has not been announced yet, but it will be by the end of May 2023.

The Finistère County Council, in the person of its president, Mile de Calan, announces the arrival of the Olympic flame in County Breton: “In view of the 2024 Olympic Games, the Olympic flame will travel through Finistère at the beginning of June 2024 at the request and with the support of the County Council. We are in the process of defining its course with the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games in relation to the sports movement, state organs and elected officials involved.. The road will start in the south of the province and end in Brest ».
Morbihan and Ile-e-Velain candidates
Finistère is not the only district in Brittany that has requested that the Olympic flame be allowed to cross its territory. Indeed, Morbihan and Ile-et-Vilann are also candidates. Côte d’Armor has not yet prepared to host this event. The Costa Rican administration in particular capitulated because of the nearly €150,000 cost generated by the arrival of the Olympic flame.
