Stade Brestois has just formalized the arrival of Éric Roy, thus ending the interim of the Grougi-Bourgis-Lachuer trio. The former OGC Nice coach has been hired until the end of the season.
The answer did not take long to arrive. Grégory Lorenzi had announced that the file for the new coach would be closed in the coming days. It’s done 48 hours later. Free since leaving Watford in July 2020, Éric Roy signs for 6 months with the ambition of keeping the Finistère club in the elite of French football.
Eric Roy has only one experience in this position
A graduate of BEPF, the 55-year-old Frenchman has only trained once, it was OGC Nice for 8 months (between 2010 and 2011). The trio Grougi-Bourgis-Lachuer who provided the interim is however retained by Stade Brestois. With the arrival of Christophe Revel as goalkeeper coach, Julien Lachuer, who usually held this position, becomes Éric Roy’s assistant.
