While the Brest Albatross were leading against the Morzine-Avoriaz Penguins (2-1) as the half-hour mark approached, the match was suddenly interrupted by a crack in the ice. So it will restart later.
It’s a somewhat comical situation that happened on Saturday evening at Rïnkla Stadium. After thirty minutes of play and while the Albatross were leading thanks to an interesting start, the match was suddenly stopped due to a technical problem. In fact, a hole formed in the ice near the visitors’ bench. It was already noticed at the end of the first period, but then increased, making the ice rink unwieldy.
The Brest Albatross will have to rematch
However, the technicians did everything they could for over an hour to fix this crack, but during the second stint, it reappeared, becoming more visible than before. Therefore, the referee of the meeting made the decision to end the match. The French Hockey Federation will decide in the coming days the terms and conditions for postponing the match to a later date. While waiting for the end of the year, the Albatross will travel in Brest to Montpellier next Thursday before welcoming Marseilles on December 28, to an ice rink in better condition, hopefully.
